Langston Hughes Center

Construction of the Langston Hughes Center, a former Andrew Carnegie Library was completed in November 2008 and is home to McGregor PACE, an organization which provides innovative care for aging individuals. The Cleveland Clinic Community Health and Education Center (CCCHEC). The CCCHEC provides health screenings and health education services to residents at no cost and is open five days per week. The Dedication February 2009 signaled the completion of a critical corner of a larger development initiative at the northwest corner of East 79th and Quincy Avenue.

The $5 million project included the renovation of the former library building and a 14,000 square foot addition which houses a commercial kitchen and the CCCHEC. The Langston Hughes Center returns a historically significant neighborhood gem to productive reuse and was made possible through the support of 27 foundations, corporations and government entities and more than 100 individuals.
