The New Economy Neighborhood (NEN) is a mixed-use technology research district adjacent to Opportunity Corridor, a transportation boulevard (formerly east 105th Street). Envisioned uses include a mix of high-performance office space with ground-floor commercial at key corners. Investments in the RTA rail station at Quincy Avenue and East 105th Street will encourage pedestrian activity and expands transportation options.

This area will bring economic growth into the Fairfax neighborhood. NEN is envisioned to be a center for innovation and technology incubation, and to provide additional collaboration with the Global Cardiovascular Innovation Center on Cedar Avenue and East 100th Street, IBM Explorys, on Cedar Avenue and East 105th Street, and the Cleveland Clinic Biorepository on Cedar Avenue and East 97th Street.
