Housing Development

Since 1996, FRDC has produced over 307 new single family homes in the neighborhood and rehabilitated another 500. FRDC offers a variety of housing options for all income levels.

Future Housing Development East 89th Street Quads
New to East 89th Street between Cedar & Quincy Avenues will be “Quad” style apartments that will have similar façades as the existing grand Victorian style homes. This infill market rate rental project will be available in 2015.

Innovation Square Is a mixed income, mixed use urban community between East 100th & 105th Streets. The project consists of executive rental housing, apartments, retail and existing housing. The plan is to develop a compact, pedestrian friendly, mixed-use neighborhood. The design of Playwright Park provides a public place for all to enjoy.

In partnership with the City of Cleveland these programs are available:

  • Afford-A-Home (AAH): Administered by the City of Cleveland Division of Neighborhood Services, AAH helps buyers purchase and repair affordable Cleveland homes. Local banks and neighborhood housing organizations participate in this program which offers low-interest loans and interest-free second mortgages of $5,000 or $10,000.   • Senior Homeowner Assistance Program (SHAP): Administered by the City of Cleveland Department of Aging, SHAP provides grants to Cleveland residents age 60+ or disabled adults who meet income eligibility guidelines and own single or two family homes in need of critical, health, safety and maintenance repairs.
